Window Glass Replacement - What we do :
-
First we need to determine if your Insulate Glass Unit or "IGU" is replaceable. The IGU is a double or triple
pane unit with a gas filled airspace. The IGU is one continuous piece and will come out of the window opening
whole. To determine if the IGU is removable stand in front of the window on the inside of the house. Look at
where the glass touches the frame and see if there is a 1/2" plastic piece running the length of the glass on
all 4 sides, these are called glass stops. If there are glass stops present you are in
luck.
-
Depending on the manufacturer these stops come out slightly differently. The most
common system has the stop sliding flat against the glass toward the center of the
window.
-
We will remove the glass stoppers and measure the glass width height and thickness. Within 1 - 2 weeks we
will replace all the glass with condensation
with new Insulated Low E Argon Energy Star Glass and the windows are as good as new
windows.
- All insulated glass is warranted for life time against seal
failure.
